Defeating the stubbornness

My heart breaks as I read the above verse because you can hear the longing and sorrow in God's voice when he says, "Open wide your mouth and I will fill it." All we have to do is open our mouths. But it's a choice. God so longs to provide for us, to love us, but our hearts have become stubborn and hardened by our own selfish desires. God is longsuffering and patient with us but eventually he will say, "ok, have it your way." Because of the Israelites stubbornness, they died in the desert with the promise land within reach.

So I ask you, what do you stand to miss out on by holding on to the stubbornness of your heart? Sure, you might have your way, in the moment... but how's that really workin' for ya? How is it affecting those around you? Open your mouth... He's waiting to fill it.
